One of the things I talked about in Going Social is how important it is to think go social with your digital friends IRL. That’s exactly what my company, Firebrand Group, helped skyn ICELAND do at Henri Bendel (where, due to popular demand, you can now purchase skyn ICELAND!) this week. Thanks to Firebrand’s own Lara Eurdolian (AKA Pretty Connected), we invited our favorite bloggers and beauty experts to an R&R event. We transformed the room into a relaxing mecca offering manicures by Spa Nail, cold juice pressed drinks from Liquiteria and the most amazing gluten-free cupcakes (some of the most amazing cupcakes ever) by Kaked, and of course some bubbly to toast summer. Guests enjoyed an eye cooling bar using Skyn Iceland’s Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels, which instantly de-puff eyes in 10 minutes and are everything you need to look refreshed after a night out or not enough sleep. There were also stress tests on hand, and my test indicated that I probably ought to slow down. Good advice!
Why am I featuring this on a blog about social media? The same reason I ended Going Social with a chapter about taking those social media relationships to th next level by building upon those relationships in “real life.” Twitter, Skype, Google Hangouts, and the rest are great, but they’re not a substitute for building relationships up close. skyn ICELAND is a great brand, but they just wouldn’t be maximizing their relationships if they weren’t meeting their social audience face-to-face every now and then. I’m just happy we were able to facilitate that!
